Q Hi there, Im just looking to find information around the difference between a chiropractor and an osteopath? Qualifications and training the require and the niche that they target? Many thanks Simon email: [email protected]

A Hi Simon,A lot of the difference is in the philosopy, but largely osteopaths aim their treatment to effect the circulation system, the lymphatic drainage and the nervous system thus providing maximum benefit from treatment. An osteopath doesnot treat only you symptom area but will endeavour to create a balance through your whole body.I am not a chiropractor so cannot answer in entirely for one however it is my understanding that a chiropractor work largely on the nervous system. What you find in treatment varies between practitioners and sometimes the edges become blurred.
As far as training goes an osteopath does a five year masters degree I don't know what a chiropractor does but assume it is similar.
I hope this gives you a little better understanding
