Q What would be the best natural therapy to try for a ten and a half year old boy That wets the bed every night without fail. Have tried all the other suggestions.

A Hello and thank you for your message. As a SleepTalk Children Consultant I specialise in assisting parents with childhood problems, bedwetting being one of them. Please take a look at my website www.talktones.co.nz and read about the method and take a look at the testimonials there also, to get an idea of just how quickly it works. It is an awesome process and helps children with all sorts of issues facing them. Regards, Mary

A Hi there we have successfully addressed bedwetting with Bowen therapy. Gentle, non-invasive, soft tissue bodywork that resets and rebalances. For more information and practitioners, go to www.bowtech.org.nz

A HI there

I have had success with clients using both NLP and EFT.
It seems you are spoiled for choice with replies, so perhaps the other advice I can offer is to ring a few people, even with your boy, so you can go with the person you are most attracted to. After all studies show it is way more important that you have a good working relationship with the practitioner that what modality they are using

A Hi there
Traditional Chinese acupuncture is definitely very effective on bedwetting. In addition to the needles (or no needle acupuncture if a phobia is present) a technique called moxa will probably also be used which is where heat is applied to the relevant acupuncture points. There are various organs which can be involved in bed wetting including the kidney and there can be issues passed down through the parental line. I highly recommend heading down this track.

A Hello. This can be a multifactorial problem. Some suggestions to look at are: 1) over activity during the day followed by a low energy state at night leading to release of the sphincter.2) Adrenal stress/fatigue especially if mother was feeling low during the earlier part of pregnancy and much better in the later stages of pregnancy which may have left the baby with hypoadrenia from which has not been recognised and he has never recovered from. 3)He has retained some of his primitive reflexes that can affect him in numerous ways (learning and behaviour) but in this case lead to bedwetting. 4)interference to the neural signalling between the bladder and central nervous system. Best of luck finding the key to unlock the problem. Regards Michael Hooker

A HI there, I have worked with 7 children with the same issue. ages between 6 to 13yrs and I use the same session every time, it take one hour with home work for a week and it is during the homework that the shift happens. The results are that the child has dry nights. Come back to me with any further questions. Thanks Amanda

A Hi
I was thinking along the lines of a Bach Flower Remedy, as there could be an underlying issue bothering him. Something like Mimulus, Chestnut Bud, Crab Apple, Aspen.
You could also try a "sitz" bath with a few drops of Cedarwood essential oil in the water as there could be a mild urinary tract irritation which causes him to empty his bladder late at night. Or it could be a simple as his bladder has not matured yet and his bladder fills late at night
To control his bladder more I have heard of people putting a ping pong ball in the toilet and getting the children to aim at this, it becomes a fun game. Or get him to stop and start his urine flow when he goes to the toilet this will help with the muscle control of the bladder. But ensure he empties the bladder fully.
All the best

A What springs to mind for me (forgive the unintended pun) is Narrative Therapy, which was founded by Australian, Michael White. White's story of 'sneaky poo' in addressing Fecal Soiling is well documented and Narrative Therapy can be extremely effective in answering bed-wetting problems as well.
The Dulwich Centre Foundation has a resource available here: http://www.narrativetherapylibrary.com/wet-beds-in-times-of-trouble-narrative-therapy-trauma-and-enuresis.html

If you are based in the Waikato feel free to contact me directly to arrange a free half hour consult and we can talk further about how we might help. Email at [email protected]

Here's to dry and restful nights for you and your young man!

A Hi there...As Im sure you're aware, there can be several underlying issues creating this problem. Sometimes even the boy doesnt fully acknowledge if there are issues worrying him, which is why working with the subconscious can achieve great results ...great thing with my work is that they don't have to undergo a psychoanalysis or tests of anykind :-) Sometimes too it can be signals to the brain that are out of synch - working with this can often obtain overnight changes.

I've worked with a number of boys around 7-10 years old with bedwetting issues and have had some good successes in this area. I offer a FEE 20 minute consult either by skype / in person / phone to answer questions and explain more fully how I may help. either email me on [email protected] or text/call 0274991115.

A Hello, I have had great success with bedwetting in children. I am a chiropractor specialised in a very gentle technique called Network Spinal Analysis. Helping the body shift from the fight or flight response to the healing or rest and digest mode can help resolve issues including bedwetting.

The oldest child with this concern that I have worked with was 13 years old. He was thrilled with the changes!

Please let me know if you would like more information or look to find a Network Spinal Analysis practitioner near you.
Good Luck! Aimee Davis- draimee.co.nz
