Q I am having dizzy spells particularly when I put my head down or stand up suddenly.

A Hi there. That can be scary and does put you at risk of fainting. Stand up slowly - if lying, sit on the edge of the bed first then stand up. Ensure you're drinking 1.5L of water a day, and you may well feel better from adding a pinch of salt to each glass of water.
A "lying & standing" blood pressure check is a good idea to check this. Herbal medicine may be helpful.

As Judith points out the cause or causes could be varied. A Hi there,

My first suggestion is to have your blood pressure taken as you may well be suffering from low blood pressure.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of liquids (particularly water) and adjust the speed of bending down and standing up to allow your body adjust.

Be checked out by your favourite health professional - one you trust with down to earth advice and can check you over fully. There can be a number of issues that may need to be 'tweaked'.

Warm wishes,

Judith Paterson
