Let me share something with you, what if I told you that using these skills, a guy got over his huge fear of
driving. Every time he drove he had a panic attack and as a result this was effecting his job in
advertising. As he lived 600 KM’s away where I have a practice in Portugal, we did this on the phone,I had to use a translator as my Portuguese only extends to ordering food and wine and it took just 40 minutes.


Now these are real steps that improve your life and others, well they improved his no end.


‘But I don’t have phobia,’ I hear you say; so what use is that to me?’ The interesting thing is that this is
just one skill or step and there are many that help with any area of your life, you just have to know what
is you want to change and then select the steps to get you there.


All these steps are from the world of Neuro Linguistic Programming, I know, it is a mouthful, basically it is
a study of excellence, over the 30 years this has been around various steps have been formulated to
give people success in any area of their life. Steve Gurney used it for his Coast to Coast wins, I have
worked with the Rugby 7’s, the National women’s karate team, Otago Boxing team, NZSki, The Hills and just trained the Elizabeth Arden group in London using the same technology to improve their business. The great thing is that these steps are soeasy, flexible and works the way your brain works. NLP knows that what you imagine feels real to the body.


Here’s a little example of what I mean; I live in Portugal for 5 months of the year and there are heaps of
lemon groves, you can smell them as you get off the aircraft, that wonderful citrus fragrance. So imagine
that you have a lemon in front of you, picture it and imagine what it feels like in your finger tips, now cut
the lemon in half, you can smell the juice as it envelops the air. You notice that some of the segments
have burst and some are still bursting with juice, you can imagine what that juice will taste like as you
smell the lemon, you now cut off a small slice of lemon just enough to fit in your mouth and now I want
you to imagine popping it in your mouth and biting down on it.


Now check your mouth, run your tongue along the bottom, notice the extra saliva? The lemon is not real,
you just imagined it, yet the body thought it was real and created a physical reaction. So imagine what
you can change by knowing that what you think feels real to your mind and body.
