Hi there, I've recently been diagnosed with flat feet, pronation of the feet. I have been suffering pain in my legs for three years, now a daily occourence. I have got orthotics and some exercises from a rhumatologist but the pain is still severe and life affecting. Can you recommend a specialist in the Wellington area I could see. Maybe a physio but I'm open to suggestions - whatever will help!
Hello Ortho-Bionomy would be a great choice for healing here.
Ortho-Bionomy uses gentle movement and positioning of the body along with gentle compression or traction to stimulate the body’s responses to release and realign, in your case the feet and anything above relating to the issue.
If you wish to contact me for help, Vicki Wallace Atlas Health Clinic Wellington.
Oh I sympathize with you. I had experienced 'achy' feet for years and presumed that it was down to heels I wore as a teenager. Just by chance I was speaking to a physio and mentioned this. I went for an assessment using an Canadian method. I have not had any problems since with the Orthotics, neither has a friend who also went. This person is in Whangarei but if you Google him perhaps he may know someone in Wellington or the Canadian company may know of someone. Good luck. His name is Brian De Vetter, physiotherapist - Whangarei. :-)
I would suggest that you check out Shelley or Richard Cheyne at Cheyne & Sissions Chiropractor in Porirua as they are brilliant.
I would recommend Elke Dunlop or Sue Field who are Feldenkrais Practitioners. Feldenkrais.org.nz will get you their contacts. They will address the whole body movement patterns that are part of how you use your feet. Good luck
Hello - you might find that getting a good reflexologist and having some reflexology will help alleviate the pain. Also try things like soaking your feet in Epsom salts as they can help with pain and inflammation and remove toxins from the body! Amazing things.
Pain in the lower legs from the foot syndrome you report is usually a tibialis posterior strain usually of tendoperiostial type. I suggest you seek help from an Applied Kinesiology based chiropractor. You have a choice in Wellington of David Comley or David Sissons or one of the Cheynes at Cheyne and Sissons in Porirua.
