Q I have been to see a Doc today as i am exactly 11 days late for my period which is strange because my periods are usually regular. Pregnancy tests and blood tests came back negative but I'm still not convinced because my breasts are sore, often gassy and I get pelvic pains when doing abdominal workouts (never exprienced that before). What does this mean?

A I agree with the response from Healing Hands and Herbs.

A Hi there,
It is not uncommon for false negative pregnancy tests to occur in the early stages. Without knowing what contraception precautions you have been taking, it's unclear how likely or unlikely this may be. However, my advice is to assume you may be pregnant - that is be careful what you eat, avoid alcohol and any drugs / medicines for the timebeing. If your period does not arrive within a week, perhaps another test. If that is still negative and your symptoms persist then you should consult a registered naturopath in your locality who can do a full consult and arrange for any relevant tests.
Take care, Maureen

A Hi there. That is somewhat unusual - but false negative tests do happen. Also, without more information (age, history, medication/OCP, weight etc,) it's impossible to consider possibilities). I'm also not sure what you mean by "breasts...often gassy"?? I assume your doctor examined you? Pelvic pain could indicate an ovarian cyst, for example. It sounds like you need to have some additional investigations if it's clear that there is no good reason that your period doesn't start.
If you need further support, don't hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards
Sharon
