Q If I suffer from not feeling like I can control my behaviour; for e.g: overeat at nights when I am tired, snap at the children and feel aggrivated...Could this be a sign of a hormone imbalance? Perhaps stress?

A Hi. Ask for yourself what stress is. What do you feel when you are stressed and where do you physically feel stress in your body? Certainly Xmas and the New Year can be a stressfull time for people in all sorts of different ways. Think about and reflect upon what may be causing you to feel stressed. There can be a lot of pressure put on people at this time of the year and being able to say "No" and/or assert yourself can be a start towards looking after yourself.
Kind Regards, Hayden

A Hi there, what a fantastic range of answers here. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I'd like to just pick up on the language you have used here to try and help answer this question for you. Behaviours are controlled by beliefs - every behaviour we act out has an underlying belief behind it ( I act this way because I believe this ). Attached to these beliefs are emotions that we feel when we act out the behaviour ( I act this way because I believe this ( belief ) and when I do I feel this ( emotion ) ) So to look at what you have written here, I can quickly identify some beliefs here that are, from what you have said, not serving you in the most positive way. The first is that you believe you are suffering, the second is that you don't feel as if you can control your behaviour, thirdly is that you believe you overeat when you are tired and the fourth being that you feel aggravated and as a result you also feel you snap at your children. Even though you have asked about the possibility of this being a hormone imbalance, everything that you have written here points to emotionally driven behaviours that have underlying beliefs that are at the very core of these behaviours. What stands out for me personally is your first statement around control of your behaviour - this seems to be at the very centre of everything else you have detailed. The great thing about this is that by simply identifying the beliefs that surround the behaviours, you are already on the way to changing the behaviour. I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you if you'd like to learn more. A HI,
I agree with answers below;even if a physical disease such as hormone imbalance is diagnosed there is still an underlying cause of this issue. Emotional Freedom Technique is a modality finding the root cause of the problems presented. It is done by lightly tapping with fingertips on certain meridian points on your body while talking(e.g: ...my aggrivation is caused because i feel...)until you discover at a pivotal time where this emotion or feeling-aggrivation- was first experienced. Tapping is continued until the emotion has no longer any charge or control over your life. Look up emofree.com you can learn this technique really easy, best to have a session with an experienced EFT Practitioner in your area or contact me on my website:www.vitalessenz.co.nz . A session can be arranged over skype too.
Best wishes
Marianne

A Some great answers below. I concur with Bill and Sharon that a thorough consultation is necessary. I'm sure you're in good company - I admit to having felt that way myself when my children were young. Hormone imbalance (I'm thinking adrenaline and cortisol) is quite possibly a symptom of what you're experiencing but is unlikely to be the underlying cause. My recommendation would be to see someone who can drill down to the underlying cause and use EFT to reduce the intensity of feeling that has been generated. It's a very quick process. I'm available for phone and Skype consultations - first 20 minute session complementary.

A Greetings, too many unanswered questions to say something definitive but stress is very likely and there are a number of helpful modalities that could smooth out your days. Many people start to feel a bit ragged around the edges with Christmas & school hols around the corner, that doesn't help either. My approach is to clear the emotional issues (which can trigger hormonal imbalances and other physical problems through a process called downward causation). First consult free. Cheers, Bill

A Hi there. What you report could certainly be aggravated by these things - but I doubt that they are the underlying issue. When we have other things going on - such as nutritional imbalances, incorrect breathing, anxiety and/or hyper-vigilance - then we are very easily triggered into undesirable behaviours. It sounds like you are "on the edge" - triggering the "fight" response and then the overeating is a way to attempt to pacify your inner feelings.
To get to the bottom of it, it would be good to engage in a thorough health consultation, which ultimately will map out a way forward for you.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards, Sharon

A Hi
TCM Acupuncture and herbs can certainly assist you with these symptoms
with good response. It is not necessary to put up with the symptoms you are having , which can come from a cycle of hormonal imbalance and stress. Both could be the cause and cause the other to occur. feel free to contact me for more info. Best Donna
