are there those who have had a lumpoctomy without the radio therapy and those who have had the radio therapy how is the on going health.I have a small new cancer oestrogen receptive and am faced with lumpoctomy and radio therapy or masectomy.It semms a shame to lose a breast for such a small cancer but also don't relish the idea of so much radio therapy
With Cancer it is very much about what you feel most comfortable with. To some women a breast is part of her femininity and removing a breast seems a bit too radical....whilst removing a lump does not seem to remove too much of the femininity. However with a mastectomy you can have some other muscles in your body to replace your breast, but it involves even much more pain. The question is: What are you prepared to do and how far are you willing to go? Another important thing is that if you choose to have the lumpectomy with radio therapy, it is recommended that you keep your liver function at a good level using herbal detox or fresh vegetable juice (not the bought ones....) and add 1/2 a teaspoon of "cleavers".
