WHAT IS JIN SHIN JYUTSU?
Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient art of harmonising energy within the body. Japanese in origin, it was rediscovered in the early 1900's by Master Jiro Murai who, after gathering insight from a range of experiences and resources including the Kojiki, devoted himself to the revival of the art. Mary Burmeister, a student of Master Murai brought the knowledge of Jin Shin Jyutsu to the United States in the 1950s and in the 1960s she began teaching the art to others. Today there are thousands of students around the world.
Our health and general wellbeing are dependent upon the constant and unobstructed flow of energy throughout our body. In Jin Shin Jyutsu there are 26 points along the energy pathways known as "safety energy locks". When the safety energy locks are open, energy flows smoothly throughout our being however when the stress and strain of daily living disrupts the movement of energy, these safety energy locks get blocked and we increase our tendency to become ill or "out of balance". Jin Shin Jyutsu involves application of hands as "jumper cables" to gently balance the flow of energy within the body.
A typical Jin Shin Jyutsu session last about an hour and a half (with a half hour consultation preceding the treatment). The receiver remains clothed and lies face up on a cushioned treatment table. There is no massage or manipulation of muscles involved. The practitioner applies a sequence, or "flow" by placing the fingertips on designated points (safety energy locks) on the body to harmonise and restore the energy flow along a given pathway.
Although the treatment is unique and an unrepeatable experience, the most common effect is that of deep relaxation - and who among us doesn't welcome any opportunity to let go of stress and restore our energy levels.
Although most people feel the benefits immediately, it is recommended you commit to as least four treatments and then arrange for further "fine tuning" as and when you require it. Repeated sessions takes the harmony and balance deeper and deeper.
SELF HELP - Help yourself to build resilience and stay well
One of the great things about Jin Shin Jyutsu is the 'Self Help' aspect and everyone can learn how to use it. And you don't have to be ill to benefit from Jin Shin Jyutsu - you can use it in a preventative way to keep yourself from becoming ill in the first place - promoting an ever growing sense of wellbeing and vitality throughout your body.
The POWER to help yourself is in your own hands. Harmonise your energy flows by simply holding your fingers. The body is affected by air, food, actions, thoughts etc. Each of the fingers and thumbs are simple unlocking keys to harmonizing ourselves.
Hold both left and right fingers in order to balance or body equally – imbalance causes tension and can lead to discomfort and pain
