PosturalAnalysis
Postural Analysis can benefit anyone as it is a means of collating information. We believe it is “better to know than not to know” because then you can choose whether to act or not. We aim for you to completely understand what we are doing with you and why and to empower you with understanding about your concerns. People often develop a strong connection between their mind and their body when receiving regular massage or therapeutic touch.
A Postural Analysis takes about an hour and allows your Massage Therapist to conduct an in depth health history interview followed by full body observations and simple movement tests to gather a deeper and holistic understanding of your health concern.
Examples of people who might consider postural analysis could be someone who is rehabilitating an injury such as torn ligaments or joint replacements, someone who experiences pain while exercising, someone who wants to optimize their sporting technique, someone who is experiencing restricted movement like a stiff neck or frozen shoulder or even someone who simply wants a deeper understanding of their physical patterns or imbalances for interests sake.
Your
Massage Therapist analyses the information gathered and plans a series of
treatments specific to you that will be of maximum benefit. These treatments
are often 60min treatments and may utilise a series of treatment modalities other
than massage. These could include Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Positional
Release and Muscle Energy techniques. We usually begin with the first 3
appointments being a week apart although in some instances the first the first
3 treatments would be done within 2 weeks. At this point we may do some
retesting to measure the progress and review our treatment plan. Treatments
usually spread out to 1.5 - 2 weeks apart until we reach the end of our
treatment plan. We often discuss ways you can continue to benefit at home with
self care such as stretching, exercises, therapeutic use of heat or cold, self
massage etc.
Please
bear in mind that we are not Doctors and will not diagnose anything. If your
concerns are severe or we suspect there may be more going on than soft tissue
dysfunction then as professional practitioners we will refer you on to the
appropriate health care providers such as a G.P., Physiotherapist, Chiropractor,
Acupuncturist, Counsellor etc.
To
Summarise, Postural Analysis can offer you a holistic and in-depth
understanding of your body patterns, injuries, their ongoing affects and the
rehabilitation process, random pains, restricted movements or tension and stress
patterns. Followed up with 5-7 therapeutic treatments and home care Postural
Analysis can benefit anyone.
