WHAT EXACTLY IS FLOWER ESSENCE THERAPY?

The process of working with flower essences can be likened to peeling layers of an onion. Firstly, a starting place and an initial formula to address your needs at that time is determined. Then, in each session, this formula is then followed up with new ones, which ‘home in’ on the core of your issues. During your first session, the therapist will need to discover any patterns within your life that may be disturbing your capacity to move forward with your life. Upon revealing these patterns, the therapist can select essences to create the ideal remedy for your needs. A therapist can use up to seven flower essences in the creation of your specific remedy. The therapist will discuss the qualities of each essence and how these essences apply to the challenges in your life. You will be offered some supporting exercises or activities to support your work with these essences. Your flower essence remedy will last for about two weeks, at which time a follow-up session is scheduled. In this session you will check-in and re-evaluate with your therapist. They will also continue the energy work and create a new formula for you. The increased awareness generated by the sessions and essences will bring you closer to your core and new supporting activities may be introduced. Within usually ten sessions, you will experience an intense change within the issues at the centre of your therapy. It may be at this point that you may want a break from the essences for a short time or that by continuing provides you with preventative measures and ongoing support.
Flower Essence Therapy is a safe and non-invasive form of treatment when carried out by a qualified therapist. It is wise to carry out some research and select a therapist who is either a member of, or accredited by, an association or professional body such as the NZ Natural Medicine Association (NZNMA). Flower Essence Therapists are obligated to a code of ethics and procedure that determines the therapy is carried out in a suitable and safe environment. These regulations also guarantee a specialist who has undergone certifiable training and receives professional upskilling.
