In 2017 the Naturopaths of NZ and NZ Society of Naturopaths amalgamated to form Naturopaths & Medical Herbalists of New Zealand (NMHNZ), which is arguably the largest body of natural therapists in New Zealand, acting as a registration and standards-monitoring organization.
NMHNZ members require a minimum of level 6, 3-year training (soon to be a level 7 minimum) and currently have over 230 full professional members, some 50 non-practising members and almost 60 student members (as of February 2019).
